No Surprise

More than half of the UK’s international airports do not have free drinking water fountains installed in their departure lounges leaving passengers with the only option to buy over priced-bottled water.

While airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Stansted, do have fountains on the air-side, 18 said they did not.  These included Cardiff, London City, London Southend, Liverpool John Lennon and Newcastle.

Unfortunately, what some passengers also do not realise is that one can take empty bottles through security and instead end up chucking out their full bottles* when confronted.  So, think green, empty your water and then refill once you go through- assuming they offer drinking water on the other side...

*By the way, what does happen to all these confiscated goods?  Now that's an investigation I would love to see published.
