Very Sad

I read (at the BBC) that English rider (from Gateshead) Davey Lambert has died in hospital following a crash in the opening Superbike race at the Isle of Man TT event on Sunday.  He sustained multiple injuries after coming off his 1 000cc Kawasaki machine at Greeba Castle, on lap three of the six lap race on the Mountain Course.

Yet another tragedy but there will be more to come as the IoM TT Cup continues.  Every year we hear of fatalities (both racers and fans) and every year we shudder and hope they won't ban it.

Yes it is dangerous but what is life without thrill?  These are adult people deciding for themselves how they want to live their lives and if it is unfortunately cut short, so be it.  At least they died doing something that they loved.

How many of us can say the same thing, I wonder?
