Yes, it was a cheap safe from the supermarket but we only use it to store important documents as it is almost fire proof. After a year of use the lock finally gave out but fortunately while already open so at least we got everything out.
That said, we still use it to keep things in it in case of fire, I got the lock off and it can still open and close normally, which is quite handy.
Our newest MP-3 player also seems to have settled down and is working well. Still a couple of glitches but as with most of things controlled by IT chips, nothing is infallible. We still have the receipt and if things get worse we'll just take it back for a refund.
