I am quite delighted to read that Liverpool FC have banned The Sun "newspaper" from its grounds and will prevent any of its reporters from being on site to cover any games played there and to attend any press conferences.
God for them in once again leading the way against this scum bag rag who saw fit to publish lies and falsehoods over the tragic Hillsborough disaster in 1989.
As usual some spokesbod whined it "deeply regrets" its reporting of the disaster and understands the damage caused was still felt by many in the city.
"The Sun and Liverpool FC have had a solid working relationship for the 28 years since the Hillsborough tragedy.
While we can't undo the damage done, we would like to further a dialogue with the city and to show that the paper has respect for the people of Liverpool.
Banning journalists from a club is bad for fans and bad for football."
On the contrary, this move enhances the quality of journalism on the sport and I only wish this had been done sooner. Now, if we can some get Maureen off our TVs that would make my entire weekend.
