Bravo Tesco-Lotus

Their company policy appears to be that when a shopper has an  item in their trolley without a price bar code on it, the cashier will put it to one side, continue to check out the rest of their goods and if an assistant has not been able to ascertain the cost of said item, they will ask the customer to pay for their shopping up to that point.

They then put aside the item and ask you to wait and in the mean time, continue with the check put process of the next customer. Once they have paid, the cashier will then ring through the single item and you can then pay as a separate bill.

I am most impressed as it causes the next in queue minimal delay and everyone is happy.
