SheBelieves Cup

I still cannot get over the infantile name for this ladies' football tournament, to be held in the States in America, later this year.  And people wonder why ladies' football is sadly not taken quite as seriously as the blurks' game.

For me it ranks right up there with my other pet peeve "footballing term", the nickname of the Australian football team- the Socceroos.  I find it utterly dreadful and cringe inducing that adults somehow contrived to think this was a really cool moniker.

Ditto for this lamentable term for a trophy.  Have they no pride?

Anyway, the Brit burds will face a stiff test as they are in the same group as the Americans, French and Germans.  Good luck to them.

England fixtures
  • v France, Talen Energy Stadium, Chester, Pennsylvania, Wednesday 1 March
  • v USA, Red Bull Arena, Harrison, New Jersey, Saturday 4 March
  • v Germany, RFK Stadium, Washington on Tuesday 7 March
