It took around an hour and a half to reach Monkey Island and as we approached the captain announced our arrival with ling toots on the horn. Clearly well rehearsed at this scene, the macaque monkeys piled down from their tree top sanctuary to come and greet us on the shore as we pulled up in a smaller motorboat.
The crew were fully prepared and had brought along buckets of chopped pineapple which were passed to out to the swarming simians who were well aware of chow time. We all had the chance to feed the monkeys under the sign advising not to (THB 500 fine...) who were more than delighted to aid and abet us crims.
Cute photos can be found on FaceBook somewhere- we don't do cute on this Blog.
