Looking at the nominations for the personality thing (oxymoron?) I cannot understand why Cal Crutchlow has not even been mentioned.
Not only the first true Englishmen to win a top level MotoGP (Brno) since Bazza back in 1981. That's 35 years ago.
He then followed it up at Philip Island for his second win of the season, a track where even Sheene couldn't quite make it. And he wasn't even riding a full factory bike.
Once again the dull BBC overlooks true achievers and reverts to the more mainstream sports with athletes, tennis players, golfers and footballers in the mix.
Very sad indeed.
