"Bridget Jones' Baby" was the first film we turned on and what an utter steaming turd it was. Hardly anything new, ridiculous slapstick "humour", ageing actors and rarely a laugh should put this franchise into its grave where it belongs.
"Sherlock Holmes Goes to America", filmed in 1943 on the other hand was utterly brilliant and one of the highlights of the viewing had it not been for "Vengeance" which we stumbled across.
A French chef swears revenge after a violent attack on his daughter's family, during which her husband and her two children are also murdered. To help him find the killers, he hires three local hit-men working for the mafia and they head off to Macau/Hong Kong to seek his vengeance.
Although we didn't have the aid of subtitles (the languages switched between Chinese, French and English) it wasn't difficult to follow and the acting and action were top notch.
This is part of a trilogy and I am now looking for the two previous parts.
