Fat Bags

Holidaymakers were hit with £186 million in excess baggage charges when they flew from Britain last year and packing too much luggage "just in case" will cost people £37 million in excess charges over the six week peak summer holiday period this year.

Customers pay out £1 million a day in excess baggage charges during the peak travel season and 27% of travellers will get a nasty shock at the check-in scales.  The average traveller over-packs by taking an extra 3.5kg (7.7lb) of luggage with them.
