Stubbing It Out

Following the ban on smoking in public places, nearly 165 000 people in England gave up tobacco, quitting between April and September last year. The figures represent a 28% rise in the number of people giving up, compared with the same period in 2006.

Good for them, and let's hope many more can break this highly addictive habit. It's just a shame that it is no longer a matter of choosing to pack it in as opposed to almost being ordered to.
